Study: Electric boost helps brain to learn better (AP)

This undated image provided by the Fried Lab/UCLA shows a brain MRI with an arrow showing where researchers applied deep-brain stimulation during tests on learning. A painless bit of electrical current applied to the brain helped some people play a video game, and someday it might help Alzheimer's disease patients remember what they've learned, a small study suggests. The game-players had to learn where particular stores were in a virtual city. They recalled the locations better if they'd learned them while current was supplied by tiny electrodes buried in their brains. That strategy may someday help people with early Alzheimer's hang on to many kinds of memory, suggested Dr. Itzhak Fried, a neurosurgeon at the University of California, Los Angeles. But 'this is obviously a preliminary result,'' he cautioned. Karen's Personal Bio & Experience with Med Marijuana™ Products:

I have a rather unusual and somewhat unique background. I was a member of the many pipeline crews who laid the huge Alliance pipeline a few years ago, running from Fort St. John, British Columbia to Chicago. I ran and continue to run, a large tracked hoe which is a big machine rarely operated by women and in an industry dominated by men- because of the sheer physical demands.

Some of my highest quality time is spent with our two Cocker Spaniels, Penny and P.D. I'm also an ardent fisherman (fisherwoman?) and certainly know how to turn a fish into a gastronomic delight of one form or another.Being a very good cook, I enjoy sampling and then recreating various cuisine choices from the world over, hunting down and using some quite exotic specialty ingredients.

My love of animals was the first step towards becoming fascinated by the Med-Marijuana products.
After trying all sorts of things to help our Labrador retriever, Molly, I stumbled across the Med-Paws product in a small shop in Edmonton, read the write-up and decided to give it a try. We had been on the verge of having to make a painful decision to put her down and end her suffering.

The results have been nothing short of amazing – the arthritis from her injuries has become virtually non-existent, her limping has subsided, and she feels much better. We see it in her eyes, her behavior - her life has not only been saved, but it's quality greatly improved as well.

The gelcaps we tried had a tremendous, postive effect on Simon’s knee pain, so after I had shoulder surgery this past summer to repair a torn rotator cuff muscle, I decided to try them as well. The healing time was so abbreviated that even my surgeon was shocked, and when he finally agreed to let me go back to work, I was able to do so with very little discomfort. The doctors had prescribed all kinds of high powered pain killers for me with limited success, and now- I need nothing. The fast healing I can only be credited to the Sativa seed oil. If we can help any animal or person suffer less pain and discomfort, it is a great cause, and we are determined to spread the good news.

Simon's Personal Bio & Experience with Med Marijuana™ Products:

For many years now I've owned and operated a contract production company in the oil and gas industry in Alberta and north eastern British Columbia. I'm an avid reader, rarely without a book somewhere nearby, and possess a large appetite for learning anything new. Basically I'm an outdoors person, with Karen and the three dogs we spend as much time as we can enjoying fishing, camping and boating. Being a reasonably decent cook takes up more of the routine. Having two cooks in the same kitchen at the same time can be a lot of fun, and I have to admit that it took a while, but I did learn to stay out of the way and not to add anything to what Karen is working on, after a few threats that is.

The biggest reason we wanted to become part of the Med-Marijuana team was, like most I suppose, because of our experiences with the two initial products, Medi-Paws and the gel caps. The Medi-Paws basically saved our lab’s life. The pain from an ACL tear combined with a dislocated shoulder was causing her an unacceptable amount of pain, and nothing was working. I actually resorted to feeding her Ibuprofen, as it’s what I was surviving on, and it helped her pain but did nothing for her exaggerated limp. She hurt. A couple of weeks on the Medi-Paws and she started to really come around.

The limp started to become far less obvious, her eyes cleared up, her mood improved dramatically and she actually started to play with the Cocker Spaniels. She will be on the oil permanently, I’m sure. For me, the gelcaps have been the first supplement I’ve found that has not only virtually eliminated the chronic knee pain I’ve suffered with for years, but as an unexpected bonus has stabilized my vision to the point where not only is reading small print easy, but my night and long range vision are noticeably better. I was so focused on the lack of knee pain that it took several weeks before I noticed that my lower back pain, a result of a bad disc sprain many years ago, had vanished.
